Accountant
Full-time · Muscat (hybrid negotiable)
Overview
Own day-to-day finance for an engineering-led studio: bookkeeping aligned with Omani norms, repeatable month-end close, invoices that mirror project milestones, and reporting leadership trusts before big decisions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain AP/AR, bank reconciliations, payroll-support files, and supporting schedules.
- Produce monthly statements plus concise notes on cash runway, debtor risk, and project burn.
- Keep VAT filings and recurring statutory tasks on rails; organise binders auditors or advisers ask for.
- Partner with operations on invoicing checkpoints, withholding where applicable, and revenue recognition cues from contracts.
- Tighten internal controls: escalation paths for spend, petty cash hygiene, retention of evidence, and reconciliation sign-offs.
- Flag anomalies early — duplicate vendors, stalled collections, irregular expense bursts — with clear corrective steps.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification (CPA/ACCA part-qualified welcome).
- 3–6+ years bookkeeping or junior accounting experience; exposure to SMEs or consulting firms.
- Hands-on familiarity with Oman VAT workflows and disciplined document habits.
- Comfortable juggling multiple lightweight entities or cost centers tied to engagements.
- Excellent English; professional Arabic collaboration with finance partners where needed.
- Advanced spreadsheet literacy; familiarity with mainstream cloud accounting tools.
- Discretion handling sensitive payroll, invoicing, and partner data.
Nice to have
- Hands-on ERP or modern accounting SaaS rollout experience.
- Exposure to bilingual invoices, FX receipts, or cross-border payouts common in GCC contracts.
- Experience supporting leadership dashboards for utilisation-based services.
